What is Australia citizenship by investment?

High net worth foreigners who invest in the state’s economy and adhere to the minimum stay criteria will be given Australian citizenship.

Status of a citizen is assigned to the investor and his family members after 4 years of legal residence in Australia. Prior to submitting an application for citizenship, a permanent residency permit must first be obtained. To be granted permission to remain in Australia, you must make an investment in one of the choices provided by the government:

Business development
Funding of start-ups or private companies

What kinds of visas are there in the Business Innovation and Investment Program?

There are 5 streams for acquiring Australia citizenship by investment:

Business Innovation stream: for people with business skills who want to establish, develop and manage a new or existing business in Australia.
Investor stream: for people who want to make a designated investment of at least AUD $1.5 million in an Australian state or territory and maintain business and investment activity in Australia.
Significant Investor stream: for people who are willing to invest at least AUD $5 million into complying significant investments in Australia and want to maintain business and investment activity in Australia
Premium Investor stream: for people who are willing to invest at least AUD $15 million into complying premium investments in Australia and want to maintain business and investment activity in Australia.
Entrepreneur stream: for people who have a funding agreement from a third party for at least AUD $200,000 to undertake a compelling entrepreneur activity that is proposed to lead to either the commercialization of a product or service in Australia or the development of a business in Australia.

Am I eligible for citizenship by investment program?

It is possible to apply under any one of the streams. From a financial perspective, the citizenship by investment streams require:

Clear criminal record
Age up to 55 years
Successful due diligence check
English language proficiency
Good health condition
Availability of sufficient funds
Legal source of income
Business experience
Funding from specified classes of investors of at least AUD $200,000 to commercialise a product or service in Australia or
Successful business history and net assets of AUD $800,000 or
The making of an approved investment of AUD $1.5 million and net assets of AUD $2.25 million or
The making of approved investments of at least AUD $5 million or
The making of approved investments of at least AUD $15 million.
