Australia announced the removal of the 40-hour work-for-two-week limit for international students

On January 13, 2022, the Prime Minister announced that the limit of 40 working hours per fortnight would be lifted for international students in Australia. The easing of working hours limits is intended to address labor shortages in the food manufacturing and distribution industries due to a large number of recognized quarantines due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. Note: the current information is based on reports and media of the Minister. Detailed guidelines have not yet been published and it may take some time for these regulations to be officially implemented.
